The Center for Basque Studies of the University of Nevada at Reno will host a conference entitled Writers in between Languages. Minority Literatures in the Global Scene on May 15-17. A number of well-known American and European professors will take part in the conference, including Nerea Arruti (University of Aberdeen, Scotland), Luisa-Elena Delgado (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign), Luis Fernandez Cifuentes (Harvard University), Víctor García de la Concha (University of Salamanca, Erret Academy of the Spanish Language), Annabel Martin (Dartmouth College), Marijose Olaziregi (University of Nevada/University of the Basque Country), Xavier Pla (University of Girona), Joan Ramón Resina (Stanford University), Mario Santana (University of Chicago), Alfredo J. Sosa-Velasco (University of Cincinnati), Michael Ugarte (University of Missouri) and Teresa Vilarós-Soler (University of Aberdeen, Scotland). Additionally, the Basque writers Bernardo Atxaga (currently in Reno as a guest of the Center for Basque Studies), Aurelia Arkotxa, Rikardo Arregi, Mariasun Landa, Miren Agur Meabe and Iban Zaldua will also participate in the conference.
