Mikel Garcia has won a Tene Mujika grant

The work by last year’s winner will be available soon

Mikel Garcia, journalist for the magazine Argia, has won a Tene Mujika grant. Garcia will receive 6,000 euros to examine the effects of the work of various directors on Basque film. His work will be published in 2011. The grant was awarded to Garcia by a panel of judges that included Lorea Agirre, Elixabete Garmendia and Alberto Barandiaran.

Imanol Murua Uria won the grant last year, and the book he created with the award, Loiolako hegiak (The Edges of Loyola) (Elkar), a history of the latest discussions and negotiations among the Basque Nationalist Party, the Socialist Party of the Basque Country and the Basque nationalist political party, will soon be available.
