It will soon publish the Russian translation of Bernardo Atxaga’s Obabakoak
The publishing house Gernika has published Gabriel Aresti’s Harri eta herri (Stone and Country), Julen Gabiria’s Connemara gure bihotzetan (Connemara In Our Hearts) and Joxe Migel Barandiaran’s Mitología vasca (Basque Mythology) in Russian translation, and will soon publish the Russian translation of Bernardo Atxaga’s Obabakoak. To complete the year, they plan to publish another seven books in Russian: Jon Kortazar’s Euskal literaturaren historia (A History of Basque Literature), Joan Mari Irigoien’s Ipuin batean bezala (Just Like in a Story), Juanjo Olasagarre’s Ezinezko maletak (Impossible Suitcases), Kirmen Uribe’s Bitartean heldu eskutik (Meanwhile Take My Hand), Miren Billelabeitia’s Esquemas de euskara (Outline of the Basque Language), Toti Martinez de Lezea’s Euskal Herriko leiendak (Legends of the Basque Country) and (in digital format) Jabier Muguruza’s Laura kanpoan da (Laura Is Out). The translators of all of these works are Roberto Serrano and Roman Ignatiev, working in collaboration.
